The Martinez is an old classic cocktail, may be even the grandfather of all cocktails. First appeared around 1860 and was mentioned as well in the famous "Bar-tenders Guide" off Jerry Thomas in 1887.

Ingredients

Old Tom Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Maraschino, Boker’s Bitter (33.9 Vol.)

Taste

A slightly sweet gin note, the nice body of sweet vermouth with dry maraschino and bitters. 

Serve

Stir with ice in a mixing glass, strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lemon zest or dry lemon.
